Having inadvertently entered the band via tape submission for a competition restricted to UK residents, an undeterred Guido Van Baelen grasps the nettle and being a little liberal with the truth, makes his way to Gravesend for the South East regional. Adopting the Lustfaust name, he scales down many of their more accessible compositions for performance as a soloist, a move that proves popular with the audience and judges and sees him go through grand final in July.
